History

The Montessori Schoolhouse is the oldest authentic Montessori school in Tucson, founded in 1974. The school provides a Preschool and Elementary program of education based on the philosophy of Maria Montessori. Founded in 1974, by Regine Ebner, M. Ed., The Montessori Schoolhouse has been recognized as one of Tucson’s best early education programs. In 1997 The Montessori Schoolhouse became a charter school and the Upper Elementary classroom was added in 1998, when the school expanded to two locations. Since receiving our charter for grades K-6 in 1997, The Montessori Schoolhouse has been an award-winning public school and has ranked among the top-performing public schools in the state.
